a journey of journals

update
:: (10.29.2012) ::
no journals have made their way home.
I am holding out that one day I will get to see them and read the wisdom they are safe-keeping.
Until then, may their beauty enrich the lives of their present caretaker.
Thank you to the amazing women who have contributed to this project.

Q :: My friend sent me this journal, what is this about?
A :: You are part of a birthday gift that I started for my 30th birthday coming in September. I sent out three journals that will travel on a journey that has no set course. As you hold this journal, I want you to know that you are beautiful and wise. You have a voice and this is a place for you to share it. The journals are about stepping out and sharing your story. They are about friendship and connecting to yourself. They are about sharing the joy, love and wisdom in your heart with someone else. These journals are a healing salve to me and I hope you too.

Q :: I received your journal, what do I do now?
A :: write/draw/paste etc. what is on your heart. Add your name to the "guestbook" provided. Then, pick one lady who has touched your heart and send the journal to her. (advanced notice is up to you- it can be a surprise or asking if she is interested, it is up to you)

Q :: It is around the 1st of September, you asked for the journal to be returned to you, where should I send it?
A :: Haha, I completely forgot to include my address in two of the journals! Hopefully I can correct that soon but if you need my address, contact me by email and I will send you my address. [knittingnettsie(at)gmail(dot)com]

Q :: How many pages can I use?
A :: That is up to you, I trust that you will know how much space you need to share you heart's message.

Q :: What kind of materials can I use, the pages look a little thin?
A :: I wanted to keep the weight and bulk down so I used Moleskines as the journals. If you would like to use watercolors or paint you may need to do that on thicker paper and glue it on. Glue sticks might be better than liquid glue, though.

Q :: I don't want my work shared online, will you respect that?
A :: Please, do share your heart and cover it will a note sharing your desire for it to be private. I will respect your wishes and thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing it with me.

If you have more questions that were not answered please email me and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Thank you!
